This retreat can be an empowering and life changing experience. The nine day vision retreat is designed for those wishing to have a fully supported experience of solitude in nature. It is loosely based on the American Indian Vision Quest. We feel that many people are attracted to doing Vision Quest but find the idea of being alone in the elements, without food or water, for four days just too daunting. So we offer a program where you decide the degree of challenge that you feel you can cope with and we then support you in that by holding the intention, looking over your progress and being there for trouble shooting. During the first days of the retreat we will discover the degree of “challenge” with you together and offer a variety of techniques and meditations to help you make the most of your experience. The retreat consists of four stages:- Preparation at home: There is a ten day lead up to the vision retreat at home. We offer a variety of exercises and tasks to help focus and to set intention. We also encourage participants to follow a simple vegetarian diet during this time. Arrival and preparation: Here you attune yourself to the land, the earth and the elements. You will follow a cleansing diet and prepare for the days of being without or depending on your choice, with very little food for 4 days. You set your intention and learn some tools how to observe, quiet the mind and read the signs of nature. Opening your heart for the communion with nature, your very source of being. Vision Quest you will choose a small site in nature where you commit to remain for 4 days and nights. with the comfort you choose (just a tarp, a swag, or a little tent,) Ceremonial preparation will lead you into these 4 days. Sharing and reintegration In a ceremony you will be lead out of the quest. A sharing for everybody involved in a sacred space is provided. Now it is to integrate your experience and find the best possible way to bring it home into your daily life. Contemplation and discussion with the guides of the quest can be of very practical nature.
